Kuney is a young and talented singer/songwriter and Baptist
missionary’s daughter who’s made her way to
the LA music scene after having been raised in Oklahoma
and Honduras. The six tracks on her debut EP are almost
as diverse as her background, showcasing her vocal skills
and songwriter’s ear for catchy hooks and soothing
melodies.
The album’s opener, “So Help Me God,” is
a tight, radio-friendly rocker that begs listeners to take
notice. “Sore Loser” which follows, is
a tongue-in-cheek jazz ditty that, like many of Kuney’s
tunes, includes simple and straight-forward—but clever—lyrics. And
whether it’s a ballad or an upbeat number, Kuney’s
vocals shine throughout.
Favorite Track: Track 3, “How the Wind Must
Feel”
