This
compilation album covers a great spectrum of independent
artist’s songs being performed by a talented
group and recorded in Nashville, TN. The cover tells me
that was a low-budget project, but knowing the quality of
music would sell itself. Stylistically, this albums touches
folk-rock in a deliberate way. I really like the flow from
top to bottom of the song list. I will also say that this
is a true all-American album, but it does have many parts
that show immature recording technique, forgetting even compilations
have consistency…not here.
So, by the time to reach the end of the record you are treated
with track 9, “4:30 in Memphis.” Now, this track definitely
doesn’t belong on this album. It should be on it’s own record.
This is a hit type song. Everything labels could have been
looking for thirty-years ago. This is good…I dig this track.
Overall, I can tell this was a fun album to put together.
There were a lot of people involved. If you get a chance,
support these guys. They are putting effort into bringing
attention to songwriters just like you. Enjoy it.
