This is a 2-track promo CD introducing a forthcoming
full-length album titled “All The Difference.” You better
visit David’s website right now, and find out how to get
a copy when it comes out. By the sound of these two songs,
this man is a powerhouse solo act! The string arrangements
are wonderful complimenting the rock edge and driving tempo
of “Where It Begins,” the first track. Taking a look at the
studio credits, I would say he put a lot of time and money
into his sound. Good for you! David is part of the few and
far between…this man is heading straight up to the top.
The first track even though it’s only 4:22 long, because
of the intensity of it sound like a 7-minute song…this is
a good thing. It pulls you right in. I found myself trying
to listen to all of the instruments, and all of the parts.
The second track gives an immediate subtle piano gesture
but comes out of the walls and nails you. Using chords typically
used in metal, David has beautified them in such a way that
captivates your ears in anticipation. Right in the dead center
of the tune it breaks down, giving a nice collection of keys,
and organ sounds, almost reminding me of Oakfield’s “Tubular
Bells.” The song ends very naturally. Wow.
