Though
they call London home, bluesy rockers Freak-1-C play the
kind of rock n’ roll you might expect upon entering
a Texas roadhouse. Swimming with the Big Fish contains
10 tracks that showcase a variety of musical influences,
though the band is often at its best with Ian Husband’s
soulful crooning to hard-rock ballads, propped up on the
soaring guitar leads of Tim “Caesar” O’Sullivan.
The
band’s sound carries influence from catchy guitar-driven
rock of the seventies to more modern alt-rock styles. And
Stephanie Lamoureux’s backing vocals add a nice complement,
particularly on the more acoustic numbers. So sit down with
a shot of Jack and a Bud Tall and give this album a listen.
Its good old-fashioned rock n’ roll will have you smiling
in no time.
