The Jeff Jones Band has so far been a well kept musical secret within the Lake Tahoe region of the California/Nevada border. Jones & co. are well versed in traditional American blues, and the title cut to their latest album, Biscuits and Gravy, pays homage to that fact by name-checking many of the all-time blues greats from the delta and beyond.

Vocally, Jones sounds as if he could be a lost brother of the family Robinson, and “What She Is” is reminiscent of a Black Crowes-type ballad. The eleven tracks on Biscuits and Gravy feature a variety of contemporary blues and blues rock styles, with mix of electric, acoustic and slide guitar leads.
