I
was a couple of tracks into the Liquid Motor Commission’s
EP when I realized these guys (and gal) have gotta be from
Detroit. And ‘lo and behold, it’s true. The band
has that unmistakable sound, ballsy blues rock slightly mollified
by Anne Raona’s lead vocals.
While
they chiefly carry a modern-rock, guitar-driven sound,
old-school metal influences (Led Zep, early Aerosmith)
are clearly evident. There’s a lot of energy on the
album, and if this debut is any indication, Liquid Motor
Commission has a healthy case of Motor City madness and
is likely to tear the house down playing live.
