The appearance of the album is very simple…it
has a photographed storyline. At first you think the girl
on the cover is Pernell Disney, so as I put I was waiting
for the female voice. Nope. A guy singing…Pernell. What else
is cool? There are lyrics on the inside. This is always a
friendly touch to an album. Immediately as the first track
starts, and on through the second and third track, there
is a very friendly sound. But I tell you, don’t be mislead
by my words, this is a very hip, upbeat, modern sounding
album. With quite a bit of electronic instruments used, I
would love to see what they do live.
The songs are very well written, good lyrics, and excellent
album flow. Pernell Disney and his group definitely put a
lot of time, thought, and love into this album. You will
find a fun mix of electronic drums and acoustic guitar, or
sounds that you would normally expect in a pop-rock group
mixed with a strong sense of originality. This album would
be a good reference for quality for other independent artists.
Pernell Disney’s sound is good for all ears. Listen away!
