Singer/songwriter Rich Wyman has worked
and performed with many talents including Eddie Van Halen,
and
Factory is one very polished album, with lush production
that accentuates the voice of this Phil Collins sound-alike,
and puts his piano and keyboard playing to the front of
the mix. Not surprisingly, the other performers on the
album are skilled musicians in their own right and never
miss a beat.
Wyman’s songs sometimes cross the border into the
land of trite and maudlin, and songs like “Everybody
Loves You,” might make more than a few people cringe.
Most of the tunes, however, avoid the pitfalls of overbearing
cliché and fans of artists like Billy Joel and Collins
and other pop songwriters will enjoy hearing Factory.
