The initial response from this 3-song demo
is…wow! Listen to that compression! Then I started to notice,
oh, the music? It’s actually very well done! Lose the compression,
have it mastered at a very expensive place, get a good cover
and manufacturing job on you demo, and you should be shopping
labels! I have to compare, though…I hear the Wallflowers.
Don’t you? That’s a good thing in my book.
The guitars are very solid! I like the blend of organ, acoustic
guitar, and the wall of vocals on the chorus of “Still” (but
they get buried in the compression). I personally like the
mix on the drums, too. So, do you see a trend? For those
of you reading this, I would recommend trying to find this
guy and get a copy of this music. It’s all radio hits! It
sounds like it’s on a pop top-40 radio station cause of the
compression. Dude, I dig it!

Erik
Beyer is a trained musician, performer, songwriter, arranger,
and self-taught businessman. After spending five years
in the Army Band he moved back to Portland, OR and began
designing sound systems and marketing pro audio gear.
He later was hired to book for a local Portland venue,
putting bands on stage seven nights a week where he reviewed
all CDs submitted. In 1998 he formed Beyer Sound Productions
with a goal to serve musicians.
