Zappa Veteran Ike Willis Releases Remastered
Works
New
CD Spans Solo Career
SAN CARLOS, Calif., July 1, 2002 - Ike Willis,
Frank Zappa's lead singer for more than a decade, has just
released his third solo effort entitled Ike Willis: Selected
Works. The CD is backed by Uwanna?/OnlineRock Records.
This latest release combines music from Willis'
early works which are currently out of production. The first,
Should'a Gone Before I Left, was originally released on vinyl
and the second, Dirty Pictures, was originally released on
CD. The new CD has been digitally remastered by Grammy Award
winning producer, composer, and Virgin Records recording artist,
Douglas Spotted Eagle.
At age 21, Willis was hired by Frank Zappa as
a front man, lead vocalist, and rhythm guitarist for what
turned out to be some of the most critically acclaimed musical
ensembles ever to perform. Willis quickly became a popular
member of Zappa's band during the 1980s and is most widely
known as the voice of Joe in the critically acclaimed Joe's
Garage.
Willis' new CD is available for purchase online
at OnlineRock (https://onlinerock.com/ikewillis)
and at Ike's live shows. For a complete schedule of shows
