Frontman / Pianist John Joe Daly, had his first
meeting with Drummer Dave Ivers playing covers
with some school friends at a graduation ceremony!
Each then went on to college and played music
with various other people coming together every
now and then for the odd jamming and recording
sessions.
A few years on, in June 2006 after
befriending a violinist from Cork (Eileen Prendeville),
a small intimate gig in Dublin was arranged for
friends and relatives featuring John Joe's music,
with Percussion and Violin featuring for some
of the songs.
After the overwhelming response,
it was decided that the outfit should be expanded
into a full band format. John Joe immediately
recruited life long friend and guitarist Barry "Buzz" McGee,
and the chemistry was amazing! "As soon as Barry
played to the first song, everything fell into
place!" After what can only be described as a
devine intervention or destiny, Alex Cecilia
was the final member of the band brought on board
to fill out the bass end. His upbringing of mixed
cultures between England and Italy has sculpted
his playing style into something altogether unique
and provocative, which blended at once with the
rest of the band.
Noticed as a definite breath
of fresh air, and audibly standing apart from
their current peers, Audium are determined to
make a notch on the Music Scene, with driving
Piano, creative guitar, eclectic drumming and
a haunting string section. With influences vast
and varied, their live performances can go from
a soft delicate passage to thundering grooves.
Audium Have been giging extensively and have
been performing their songs on TV and Radio in
Ireland to raise awareness of themselves and
build on their fanbase.
