About: |
I
could trace it back to the first time I heard
Guns N' Roses
"Don't Cry" or when I learned how to play "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" on my guitar.
Perhaps it was when I heard Rage Against the Machine's self titled LP and started
to understand how music can express and expose social injustice...
Most likely it was when I first heard the lyrics to Pearl Jam's "Alive" that
I experienced the extraordinary power of music --- the feeling of listening
to a song that speaks so directly to your life and wanders so close to your soul
it's as if you are the person singing the song.
You become a part of the music, and it is with you forever. It is my hope that
you will experience this feeling on some level when you listen to our songs.
Our songs draw from our experiences living in New York City and comment on current
political and social issues. Stories of heartbreak, anger, confusion, and
injustice are connected to the local and global communities in which we live
to create songs that resonate far beyond our individual lives.
I cannot imagine anything greater than writing and peforming music that people
find meaningful. And in doing so, I am inspired.
